My child is getting married. Does he or she have a monetary claim against me on the occasion of the marriage?
There is still a provision in the law regarding a so-called entitlement to equipment on the occasion of the child's marriage. This exists if the child does not have sufficient assets or income to be adequately provided for. The amount is determined on a case-by-case basis, whereby the entitlement of a child with no assets can amount to up to 30% of the parents' net annual income, depending on their ability to pay.
