Do I have to pay for my parents if my pension is not enough to pay for their care?
If the parents' income (pension, care allowance, etc.) is not sufficient to cover the costs, parents may have a maintenance claim against their children. Due to the abolition of the care recourse, the children's assets can no longer be accessed. However, parents may still have a maintenance claim against their children. Initially, however, the spouse of a parent and subsequently the ex-spouse and ancestors of the parent must pay maintenance.
